Verification & Trust

This page explains how we verify Bangladeshi exporters, what our badges mean, and how buyers and exporters should think about trust, risk, and responsibility when using the platform.

Page goals

  • Make it clear what “Verified” does and does not mean.
  • Show exporters why verification matters (visibility, trust, more inquiries).
  • Help buyers use verification, reviews, and documents in due diligence.

What “Verified Exporter” means

Business identity checks

  • Legal company name and registration.
  • Trade license or equivalent business registration in Bangladesh.
  • Tax / VAT registration details, if applicable.

Contact and address checks

  • Registered office address.
  • Contact person details (name, role, phone/email).
  • Basic verification of phone/email.

Export readiness checks

  • Export/import registration (if required).
  • Evidence of prior export activity (optional at early stage).

Note: Verification increases transparency and confidence, but is not a guarantee of performance or product quality.

Verification levels (optional)

If we offer multiple levels, they may look like:

Verified: Basic identity and business checks completed.
Verified Plus (future): Additional evidence such as certifications, factory visit, or audited documents.

If we only have a single badge today, keep messaging simple and clear.

How exporters get verified

  1. Apply for verification from the exporter dashboard.
  2. Submit required documents (trade license, tax docs, contact details, photos).
  3. Our team reviews within an estimated timeframe (e.g., 3–10 business days).
  4. Outcome:
    • Approved → badge appears on profile and listings.
    • More information required → we contact you to request documents.
    • Rejected → we provide an explanation and re-application rules.

We may ask for periodic renewals and reserve the right to re-check or revoke verification if issues arise.

How buyers should use verification

Treat the verification badge as one useful signal among many:

  • Check company profile completeness and product information quality.
  • Review certifications and provided documents.
  • Consider responsiveness and communication quality.
  • Use reviews/ratings (if available) as additional context.

Recommended buyer actions:

  • Request references, factory photos, or a video call.
  • Use third-party inspections for larger orders.
  • Start with smaller trial orders where sensible.
  • Keep key agreements and quotes in writing (preferably in-platform).

Reviews, ratings, and feedback

If reviews are supported:

  • Only verified buyers (those who ordered or interacted) can leave reviews.
  • Reviews should focus on product quality, on-time delivery, and communication.
  • Moderation: basic content rules apply; users can challenge or report reviews for investigation.

If reviews are not yet implemented, note they are planned with similar controls.

Prohibited & high-risk products

We disallow listings that violate:

  • Bangladeshi export laws.
  • Common import restrictions of major markets.
  • Our platform rules (illegal items, counterfeit goods, weapons).

Violations may result in listing removal and possible revocation of verification. See our Policies/Terms for full details.

Our role in disputes & safety

We are not a party to buyer-exporter contracts. We may:

  • Review reports of suspected fraud or misrepresentation.
  • Take platform actions: warnings, suspensions, listing removal, verification revocation.
  • Provide guidance and resources for safe trade.

We do not guarantee payment, delivery, or quality, nor act as bank, insurer, or legal representative.

Always use clear written contracts, inspections, and agreed payment terms.

Reporting concerns

To report suspicious listings, misuse, or serious problems:

  • Use the Contact page or email support@yourplatform.com.
  • Use in-platform reporting tools where available (report button on listings/profiles).
